The New Lunar Republic. Founded on the wings of the disgraced Princess Luna, its members fight every day against the tyranny of the Solar Empire and its forces, becoming the focus of many fanfictions and crossovers, ranging from Assassin's Creed to Freespace. Its conflict against the Solar Empire is the focus of the Equestrian Civil War, where the ideologies of "you are a number, you are expendable, you are just a statistic" and "no man gets left behind" clash head to head. I myself am fully affiliated with the NLR and I am proud of it.

And now, a description of the flag itself:
In stark contrast to the despair and pain portrayed in the Imperial Flag the Flag of the Republic portrays hope and comfort, which is why the flag's colors are mostly hues and shades of blue; representing the healing and comforting embrace of water. Water, in stark contrast to fire, is needed to sustain all life and is cleansing and helpful. It can also be turbulent and should never be underestimated, similar to the New Lunar Republic's military element. The text is white in color to further add contrast to the Republic's flag and the Empire's flag: while the Imperial Flag's text represents the ash left after a wildfire, the text on the Flag of the Republic represents the clean and pure status of something that's been washed by water, representing the Republic's ideal of freedom, liberty, and justice and that everybody in it is important somehow, and that no one is expendable. It also gives a look at Princess Luna's personality, which has nothing to hide and is exactly how you'd expect her to behave on-camera when she's off-camera. The font is also really cool--aside from its name, "Gunship", it's also the same font used in Code Lyoko, my favorite non-Pony TV Show.

While I wish that the insignia's edges were crisper, I liked how this one came out, as well. It's such an awesome embodiment of the NLR's philosophy, for me.
